I'm trying to identify a UK TV Programme from the late 70's (I think) where a teenage girl moves into a village and lives in a caravan on the outskirts. She is gradually accepted, to the extent that she is made carnival queen when the village holds a fete. The carnival float catches fire and she is so taken up with her role, she doesn't notice (but is rescued I think - I hope!).
Everyone tells me it is Kizzy, but it's definitely not that - I watched that through to check. I don't know if it was a series itself or just an episode in a series that had different stories every week.
Does it ring any bells with anyone - it's driving me nuts!
