Opening Credits To John Thaw Tv Series

I saw this show...who knows...I would date it in the early 90s. I thought it may have been an early opening credits scene to INSPECTOR MORSE. No. The scene: A lively opening credits. John Thaw in a posh car. Outside a large stately building. There was a comedy skit with bananas. I kid you not. Some old bloke was pushing banana skins or full bananas through the rolled down window of Thaw's car. Thaw was in the car. He took it as a joke. Smiled. end of memory. Don't recall the show. The car wasn't his Morse Jaguar, I don't think. It was night throughout the opening credits. I've looked at Thaw's wiki page. It isn't Kavanaugh QC. I've watched the credits for that. There is only one option. MITCH. A series I do not recall. Cannot find anywhere I can watch it for free. There is a scene on YOUTUBE. Too short. No opening credits. This Mitch wears a sheepskin coat and the Thaw I recall in the mystery TV show credits looked posh. So...

Ps. I recall seeing these opening credits several times so it was a series. ITV probs. No sky or anything like that.

Nope. I ruled out all those. It looked and felt like MORSE. Maybe it wasn't even John Thaw. But I was certain at the time I saw it. It was him.
