Ooooh I'm excited!!!! Please help me remember....

I have been bothering folk about this programme for years & they just gives me blank looks! I can even sing a bit of theme tune, but that's not much use on here so here goes........

It was an early 90's kids programme (on CITV I think?) & a wizard/magic man kept appearing to a boy to grant wishes. The wizard man was tall with long brown wavy hair & wore long bright multi-coloured cloaks (think lawrence llewelyn-bowen) & in one episode the boy wished his dog could talk & it became famous. In another his school bag had a spell on it so that anything he wanted to appear from it did. The magic man would just appear from out of nowhere and I got the feeling the boy just wished he would leave him alone

If anyone has any ideas it'd be much appreciated, thanks xxx

Hi been having a look for you, and so far the only lead I have is someone else who seems to be after the same programme,sadly their post on a different forum went unanswered, but they seem to think it was on CBBC and "The man Whistled a funny tune to grant wishes" does this ring any bells? If so it might help someone else remember of find it.

The words in the theme tune may help, if there were any

This reminds me vaguely of 'Billy Webb' the series, however am having trouble finding much info about it, mabe this'll give you a start

It was Billy Webb Danny!!!! More specifically it was the Alfonso Bonzo series, he was italian exchange student rather than a wizard that swapped things with Billy - but the examples I found were a magic bag & dog so I'm not going mad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfonso_Bonzo

Well done Danny i had ruled out both Billy Webb and Alfonso Bonzo, as I remembered Alfonso Bonzo was about swapping things!!
