  • Strange fairy programme...

Please help! I have been trying to find out the name of a programme for nearly twenty years. We hired it on video in about 1985, when I was 10, so I know that I didn't imagine it, but everyone I have ever spoken to about it says that I must just have been on drugs!

This was a kids programme that I had watched when I was much younger. I can't remember the main part of the programme, but at the end there was an angel or fairy who lived in a house/castle on a cloud. They would come down on a sunbeam into a field and then perform with a rock band either as lead guitar or singer or both. This cartoon was puppets and must be from the 1970s or 80s

I hope someone can help put me out of my misery at last...

I just dont remember any fairy/angel living on a cloud ..or even joining in with Rory and the boys ...but it was alooooong time ago :-)

Sounds like a cross between Animal Kwackers, Jamie and the Magic torch and Chorlton and the Wheelies lol :-)

Thought about that too Heather but there was no fairy in that either, either the cartoon or the live action puppet/men dressed as odd animals show, not that i can recall anyway.

              Will keep looking.

I remember this show - it used to be broadcast on ITV round about mid-day on weekdays during the early 1980s. Unfortunately, I can't remember what it was called or even the names of the charecters anymore. But, yes - it did exist.

Sorry this probably isn't much help, though.

According to one of my favourite sorces of info - Sausage.net - there was a puppet series called The Fairies -

" Fairies (the) (Live action and puppets) (UK)
The Fairies, Harmony and Rainbow Rhapsody sing fan-fairy-tastic songs! "

but this is the only information on it I can find !

not that I'd ever question Sausage Net's reliability Joybee, but the Fairies appears to ba an Australian show and quite recent (2000's)

If you pop "The Fairies" into google followed by "Harmony and Rainbow Rhapsody" it brings lots of info up

It is only someones OPINION and memory !! It is open to challenge - and I believe every word of it - but there is nothing to say that it was not broadcast in the UK before this reference !!

It also brings up lots of DVD's and CD's up from the show, its deffo an Austrailian show...but I do however agree it could have been based on an earlier show based here in the UK.
