kids tv mid 80's i think

I have puzzled a few people with this,
All I remember is some bloke with a dragon puppet and i remember something about a magic puddle or bird bath type thing and when he swished his finger in it the was a new story every week

can anyone help!!!

I had a few of the Puddle Lane books when I was younger, went through a phase where I started to collect as many as I could. I remember The Griffle and old Mr Gotobed, the memories!

Puddle Lane - and the Magician was played by Neil Innes from the Bonzo Dog Band. He also did music for Monty Python and appeared in a couple of sketches.

As a kid I always thought he needed a girlfriend: Wizadora.
