Was watching Come Outside a couple of days ago with my grandson - basically its her who played Gladys Emmanuel in 'Open All Hours' ( only this time she called Auntie Mabel ) and her dog called Pippin.
She lives in a cottage and goes out all the time with dog to look at things like how is paper made etc ( Sometimes she goes by plane )
This reminded me right away of some old series from maybe seventies or early eighties , similar scenario with a lady in a cottage and her dog going out to look at stuff - in the old series the dog was called Benji and the dogs ( I think ! ) looked quite similar
