Re: What old tv series have you bought on dvd

I once made a compliation of old continuity & logos I found on old tapes, along with some favourite adverts.

I don't do as much recorded off-air as I used to, but have kept hold of many shows that will probably never be repeated or released on DVD.

One show I've noticed isn't out on DVD is Lynda La Plante's Civvies.

I didn't watch much of it but I'll always the trailer with the voiceover starting "We were the roughest & the toughest!" & that bloke with a dueling scar.

My brother really got into it when it was on.

Re: What old tv series have you bought on dvd

I purchased all series of Starsky and Hutch.

But the best thing that I have ever bought on DVD is One Summer. A 1980s drama. The first drama ever show on Channel 4 in 1983. However, I watched in when repeated on ITV in 1985. It is about Billy (David Morrisey) and Icki to 16 year old scouse lads in the last year of school. Facing no future in Thatcher's Britain they run away to Wales because Billy once camped their with school as a young lad and that was one of his few fond childhood memories. What follows is the ultimate coming of age drama.

I forgot about this for years then expressly remembered in around 2006. Then I realised that I had never reallyforgotten it at all. It has aged well and is still the best piece of TV drama that I have ever seen. Check it out. You wont regret it.

                        Bergerac - Series 2

"We're the Sweeney son, and we haven't had any dinner!"
