chickens & chairs guy on the Tube

Can anyone remember a guy who performed a song on the Tube back in the 80s ?

The song was called something like "I've got no chicken, but I have five wooden chairs". He had an acoustic guitar and he really went off on one, howling and all sorts. Think he wore National Health glasses.

Hardly a classic, but pretty funny in a daft sort of way and I've never been able to find it anywhere.

He supported Stump, and when we got to gig, he was asleep under the merchandise stand
He then went on stage and did strange songs such as "knobgob" &"slap belly slap".

I assume its just an act,as he successfully sued Kylie of ripping off Confide in Me from his hit "Its a fine Day"

God not heard that song for years, see why he won just by hearing the intro.
