care bears!!!!

I have been getting quite frustrated with the care bears lately!! i am in my mid 20's and i have a 2 year old that i am introducing to care bears! i grew up on the original ones, so that is what i started with!
Apparently there are three different kinds, not two like i originally thought.
The third one appears to have all the same settings as the original, but none of the music or same bad guys. I loved watching the care bears conquer no heart/beastly and shreky! but this third series, has "cold heart" and "frost bite". where did they come from???
i dont remember watching them growing up. were they the original, original??
Cuz what i really wanted to do was buy all the care bear shows with the "no heart" and "beastly" bad guys, for my daughter.
how many episodes did this team have? and can i buy a boxed set of all of them?!? is that possible?

have you watch all three of them?? i myself had never seen this coldheart and frostbite til this year. so weird. I dont even know what to call them. As far as i was concerned there were the originals and now the new computer animated ones. then these others one poped up!

ok so this is what i found, in case anyone else was wondering!!

Professor Coldheart was from the original (DIC episodes), and No Heart was the next up bad guy when the care bears was sub contracted (Nelvana episodes).

DiC entertainment made the first 22 episodes (which i found on dvd from walmart in ontario...) from sept 85 til 86 This was called care bears "care-a-lot"
then they subcontracted the animation of these to nelvana in sept of 86. two movies were made then and their spin off was called "Care Bears family"

so that all said, that makes a lot of sense to me, but i would like to find out how many episodes Nelvana released and if they can all be purchase on dvd!!!

so there were 22 episodes from DIC, and 78 from nelvana, i dont think nelvana made a box set that big thou!! haha

you know what heather?! I suck, i dont live anywhere that i could purchase these.. i live in windsor ontario... CANADA!! maybe i will try and find them somewhere else online..
