I've been suffering the worst man flu these past two days but i had to go into my parents loft to get the cat boxes for their moggies annual vet health check,
I came across a box of old vhs videos, i borrowed my mates vhs and have had a misty eyed day watching through these little time capsules, most of them are stuff that my parents have since bought on DVD but some were little gems with bits and pieces of programs that were recorded over and over on top of each other,
However, i had got one with about 7 seconds of teletext which played the theme to farmhouse kitchen, a massive nosltalgia rush burst forth, cant beleive i'd forgotten that classic theme. Found it on utube with a full length version that has a proper bit of jazzfoolery in the middle. I'm well chuffed.

Themes I really loves as a child: Dr Who (not the orchestrated tosh they play now but the real creepy theme); the Avengers; Orson Welles' Great Mysteries; Follyfoot; Tomorrow People; and Callan with its swinging lightbulb. These tunes not only encapsulated the excitement of the shows themselves but were great music in their own right!

I have just discovered a great little channel on youtube,by a gentleman called: tvaudiochap.
He has a lot of great theme tunes, including the 1978 Hazell theme tune and song. The most impressive thing he has done to my mind,is to manage to find the theme tune to the Bob Hoskins old series: On The Move.
Here is the theme tune to On The Move:

He has the excellent long version of Kim & Co aswell.

Lots of theme tunes remind me of being a kid again, but the theme that really makes me all nostalgic is actually the music on those broadcasting adverts/idents
like the Anglia tv just before sale of the century or particularly the ATV ident, found it here and it gives me goosebumps after all these years

I think my No 1 is Trumpton but I've got to say Camberwick Green and Chigley are close behind as well as Tales from the Riverbank and The Wooden Tops in fact there are so many tunes that transport me back I can't just pick 1!

Top call. Has to be one of the most haunting themes ever. When I was 9, I would hear it and imagine myself soaring into the sky in a 1914 bi-plane with Christina gazing at me in admiration! Well a 9-year old flying a propellor plane would look pretty impressive.

My mum and sister loved the show so much and bought the tape of the music, which I remember had a lovely pic of Christina in full hunt dress on the front, lol.

3 of my earliest are the music from The Edgar Wallace mysteries that played when the bust was revolving, The Champions and The Persuaders.

I had a compilation video of clips from Playschool across the years. It was really good. Wonder if I can get it on dvd...

    He was .....err...IS!

He also sang the 'Playaway' theme, along with Fred Harris, Julie Stevens and the rest.
