    Hi everyone.
in the 1970s children’s TV in UK seem to have many of these shows from Europe that were either dubbed or narrated in English.
here are a few i can remember. These are probably from 1974 - 1980

The singing ringing tree. (East Germany)
    The Singing Ringing Tree

the bear looked like bungle’s (from rainbow) lost cousin.

    the girl from class 5b
b/w and shown early in the morning.

I remember some of the later ones which were dubbed rather than narrated, Heidi, Silas and Tim Tyler come to mind.

          Oops...........oh yes.

Bit if trivia: The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe; a French serial, based on a book by an English author (who sometimes claimed French ancestory), starring an Austrian actor and narrated by an American who spent the second half of his life in France and preported to be using an English accent on the narration itself. That was an English accent??

There were so many of these and most of them were surprisingly good! I can remember one really bizarre series about a boy who builds a laser in an attempt to find a kidnapped boy (didn't make sense to me at the time) and the laser could talk and make him invisible.

Could it be this one? (Scroll down a little less that half way to 'The Legend of Tim Tyler')

I remember a series where the father/uncle went off to town in his horse and cart. He asked the 2 kids what they wanted, the boy said lots of things and the girl said the first thing he sees.
The man comes back with all the stuff for the boy and 3 acorns/nuts for the girl. The acorns/nuts crack open one by one and there are wonderful things inside them.
Can't remember what its called or how it ended or what was in the nuts!

I remember a French program based on the French air force called 'The Aeronauts'. I think the plane were Lightnings.

There are moments on this forum when I just go, "Wow!!!" because of the reminder of a show I'd watched and liked but then forgotten about for 30 or 40 years. This is one such moment. Thanks so much for the post.

There are sketchy entries on various Internet sites including 'TV Cream' but one of the best things I found was........the theme song! It's, err, "groovy man".

                          A few more details:

The TV series was made in France in 1967-68, based on a French graphic novel. There was a subsequent series of comic strips. The programme wasn't shown in the UK until 1973 and was transmitted just before Robinson Crusoe during the summer holidays. They made a movie of it, (or of the original graphic novel), last year!

                          This guy has the annual!

don't remember it at all (even the theme tune -thanks!- doesn't help)
I'm intrigued as to why that is, as I NEVER missed Robinson Crusoe, and you say it was on before it?

Well, I don't have the recollection myself but there are several posts in online aviation forums where people say this is when it was broadcast. I certainly recall the series and theme but can't say I'm absolutley sure when it went out.

                              Curious.
