Hand puppet?

Does anyone remember a tv show, based on a cartoonist (or architect) either way he always seemed to sit at a drawing board.
I recall he had a lion glove puppet on which he used to talk to.
i think it was a comedy - though I dont recall it being funny.

I dont think i was the only one that watched it, so i hope some one can help me recall the title.

This suggestion depends on the fact you may have misremembered details so it is a bit of a long shot.

Are you sure it was a hand puppet? Could it have been a ventriloquist's dummy? Lennie the Lion was a big hit in the 50s and 60s but came back in 1977 with a series on ITV that ran for several years, called 'Reading with Lennie' where the lion and his operator, Terry Hall, did indeed sit by a drawing board.

There was another series called Piggy in the Middle. I think it might have been a sequel to Keep It In the Family.
