Can't remember scary 70's kids tv programme

I only have very sketchy memories of this and no one I ask has any idea what I'm talking about. There was a family that moved to an old house in the country. There was a window on the outside of the house which couldn't be found on the inside of the house. The kids investigated and made a hole in the wall behind a wardrobe to find a hidden room full of ghost from the past. Anybody any ideas or have I dreamt this? Thanks

OMG! For the past 2 days I've been trying to Google this. Bizarre!

I'm positive it's the same show. I remember something about a snuff box, and some blood dripping off the ceiling onto the dinner table, and a dead person on a bed underneath a rug (or something). A family moves into an old house and they discover a hidden room and the house was haunted. Very vague memories, I was probably 8 or 9 at the time. Quite scary... but fascinating!
