    Albion Market

    Anyone remember Albion Market? It was on ITV and I vaguely remember it was around the same time as Eastenders started.

    Yeah it started on the same day as Eastenders I think. It was a bit pants though as I remember!! Gosh I haven't thought about that in YEARS! LOL!

      I remember it, & found it a bit camply acted for a soap.

      TV Cream had a good go at it.

        Albion Market started 6 months after Eastenders in August 1985. It finished in August 1986.
        It was a rush-job answer to Eastenders...And it showed!
        I go back to the original Jethro Tull - Yes! The seed drill inventor!

            It was on TV during the worst period of my life thus far, so I don't particularly want to be reminded of it.

              I actually LIKED this show... it could be because it coincided with a very happy period in my life, perhaps THE happiest...

              Perceptions are often thus coloured, I believe..

              I thought it was well acted and I loved some of the characters. But I couldn't see it being a formula for long term soap success.

                I always get this one confused with Gems - I think they both started about the same time but one was set down south
