70's kids shows

Anyone know what Im looking for here.

My mum says I used to be totally transfixed by a storytelling owl which was either on at teatime or lunchtime,reckon it would be between 74 and 76,it sat in a tree I believe.

Also a programme on bbc1 with Floella Benjamin usually,I think other play school/play away presenters were on it too.I remember there was some sort of storytelling machine shaped like a coathanger??!! and a felt board with which Floella used to tell us stories about a classroom.

Did it (the owl) wear a cap ?

It seems I was thinking of Ollie Beak which was on telly way before the decades of this site! ( unless it was repeated in the seventies )

Ollie Beak also came on Lets Get Together in the seventies but I don't think he was the owl who told stories in a tree

it was a wise old owl who wore glasses and read to baby owls.

She says Ollie Beak looks familier,but she could have watched that with a neighbour,so shes not sure.She is still convinced this damn owl was a teacher!!!!

Wow, Tuesday rendevous - what a blast from the past!

I think thats where I first saw Ollie Beak; he must have appeared on loads of different series over the years ( a cloth equivalent to Brucie? )

It appears it was something called the Daily Fable,which was originally Dutch.Can only find the Dutch version on you tube though,so we are not 100% sure if it is saying "heads under wings,beaks under blankets,goodnight!" So if anyone wants a look its under Groot fabeltjesboek!

Yup,Im still looking for the Floella thing I mentionedNow, a little more detail.It was on BBC,Im sure,in a studio the thing with what looked like a coathanger was some sort of spinny thing.When it was spun,it would stop at the story for the day.Now,the felt board thing was also a story telling device.Floella,or that woman with the blonde hair(parts are coming back to me!)she may have been a Carole,would look at it sometimes and say "its milk time at (whatever the name of the school was) and start a story.I also remember it was a multi cultural board too,which was quite strange to me,as we didn't have many foreigners round our way.

Anyone???
