Does anyone remember Stranger Danger?

I remember at some point when I was in Primary School (Between 1979 and 1985) the Police came to our school and made us all sit in the assembly hall and watch this video.

Its obvious from the title what the subject of this film was but I am curious if anyone knows where I can get a copy of this specific film as I seem to remember it being incredibly disturbing (In a "Spirit of Dark and Lonely Water" way) and am curious to see how much I remember is real and how much I've just coloured in over the years.

Apart from that, I remember that it kept cutting to a car which glowed red and synth music would play and the words "Strangerrrr Dangerrrrrrr"

Yeah I remember it and matches matches never touch, you can watch all those disturbing old films on youtube.

I remember a few of those,

There was one where this boy's messing about with matches in a shed, sets something alight (possibly a petrol can) & then finds he's locked in.

There was another where a girl does almost the same & we get a close up of a doll's face melting.

Those information films either ended up very scary or unintentionally funny.

Still can't find it, mind. The main problem being that America did a campaign by exactly the same name so all I get on Youtube is American ones. A noble cause but kinda betrays a total lack of imagination.

Try here The National Archives | Public Information Films or search for public information films on youtube, I know stranger danger is there because i watched it about 6 months ago. You mean the one where the guy wants to show her some PUPPIES? lol. Good luck.

Its not that one, Robbieboy. but..... this is the weird thing.... I think we were shown that one in the same sitting. The stranger education thing seemed to last the entire afternoon. We watched the Charlie says one as well and a couple of other short ones.

I was watching it and really thought it was the one but.... no glowing car and it was missing the one thing which really disturbed me at the time (and still does) which was a scene where the voice over said something along the lines of "If you get into a strangers car, something horrible could happen..... like this!" and cut to some girl huddled in the corner of a room crying and a shadow looming over her..... still sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it. I was only about 6 or 7 at the time and even then I kinda felt it went a little too far. The reason it sticks so well in my mind (That scene and the glowing car) was because our headmaster at the time started chuckling and the two police officers...well... if looks could kill! And the chuckling headmaster incident has been discussed over the years and always coupled with one of us singing "Strangerrrr Dangerrrr".

Bloody scary... but I suppose that was the intention.

Nah I don't know the name of that one but I do know what you mean because I remember several different stranger movies aswell. guess you will just have to keeop trawling youtube and hope something comes up.
