I have a very vague memory of this, so if anyone can help me out, that'd be grand.
It was a 90's tv drama, likely to be mid-late 90's. All i can remember was that it was set on an island, and there was some sort of mermaid or girl that lived out in the sea or in the woods or something and a guy that lived in a house that was her friend. I think there was a waterfall in it somewhere.
Thinkin on, it may be that the boy fell in and couldn't swim, and was rescued by her, but i dunno
