70s/80s (?) TV Drama About Diamonds

Ok, this has been bugging me for days, and I'm hoping that the Big Brains here can put me out of my mysery!

I'm trying to remember the name of a TV drama of the late 70s/possibly early 80s, the details of which are:

• It was about Diamonds
• More specifically, if I remember rightly, the distribution of wealth from Germany after the Second World War
• There was an old Jewish diamond dealer character called Mordechai Kramer who was trying to recover his diamonds
• It starred an actress with a slightly, how can I put it, characterful face
• There were scenes shot in Amsterdam

I'm sure more will drip-feed itself to me from the back of my mind, but that's all I have to go on at the moment.

Doh! I searched & searched for this but using Kramer, which threw up stuff, but not TV series's

BTW, what happened to John Stride? He was always on the Telly.
I used to like that show he had with Julia Foster
