Hi there i have a Question about a tv show..

Hi everyone..

i am searching for a name of a tv show.
i only know that there where children in it.
and they had a parrot, i believe he could talk.
i watched this show when i was younger.
but somehow i forgot the name. and i don't like that of myself.
since this year i have been searching again.
the children where as i believe one boy and 2 girls.
and they had all kinds of adventures.

i hope someone can help me. :cry:

a stab in the dark as there's no year given, but the only programme I remember as a kid with a speaking bird was " The Pheonix and the Carpet "

But I also have in my mind a sort of comedy adventure show with a talking parrot. I'm doing some research...

It reminds me of the televised version of 'The Island Of Adventure' (based on the Enid Blyton book) made in the early '80s, but I know that's wrong because it was a one-off movie and not a series, and there were two boys and two girls. There was definitely a talking parrot in it though.

I remember that the fat bloke with glasses from This is Engalnd was one of the kids in it, there was deffo a Parrot in it called Kiki (i think) and Frank Tate who used to be in Emerdale was in it too, as far as i know it was only ever shown once and it was on ITV Xmas day morning either 1983 or 84.

Yeah the parrot name was Kiki.. was it the name of the show?

No it was probably The Island Of Adventure like Austin Maxi said, if the Parrot was called Kiki.

I read the Adventure books with Jack, Philip, Dinah and Lucy-Ann and Kiki. I never saw the tv version though

That's a different version to the one I remember, which is the same one as JingBang recalls. Norman (Frank Tate) Bowler played Bill, and Perry (fat bloke off of 'This Is England') Benson played Jack. Wilfred Brambel was also in it, with a small role playing a moody uncle, and the more benevolent aunt was played by Eleanor Summerfield. The villain drove a brown Morris J4 van, which I remember clearly as I knew someone who had a caravanette version at the time. The movie stuck well to the original plot but modernised it a bit for the '80s. The parrot was indeed Kiki.

i think the show was called The island of adventures. i have tried to search on Youtube but i can't find it.
can someone maybe sent me a link if it is on youtube?
thanks everyone.. i was searching for a very long time now. even though i am only 20 years old i wonder how i have seen it on tv??

If your in Holland maybe its been shown over there a few more times than it has over here?
It was available to rent on Video too over here in the early 80s, but to find a copy is extremely rare i have seen it on EBAY only once in the last 10 years and that was a copy i sold and it went for 30 odd quid.
