Well, the first time I ever got to 'meet' a wallaby in person it was at a U.S. zoo, so I have to give points for that, but truly I'd love to be able to take a boat down under and see the wallabies there in larger numbers. I think they're the cutest things and had a toy stuffie one that was special to...

We had steelies but they were any metal ones (probably all ball bearings?)... but a large glass one we called trombolies, I have no idea why, something inherited from older kids. I think there were also aggies which were not your run-of-the-mill glass marbles. I did play marbles in the school yard,...

Wow, had no idea France was like that! Sad times. Is something wrong with our educational systems? I would say I was taught a lot about critical thinking from reading older science-fiction and the magazines and fanzines in particular. There appears to be a lot of people who will take and swallow as...

Another of those 'collect them all and put them in a custom binder' titles! It seems there were 105 editions of this series, it was titled Story Of Life for some markets, same photos and content.

I only remember ads for those kinds of Lego sets. I had a few of the cute astronauts ones and the yellow castle with the drawbridge and various knights. Of course i combined them for space knights!
I think the more specialized Lego sets you can maybe only build one, or whatever small number...

I'm okay with a bird walking on the roof above me, or squirrels, they don't stay too long, although the odd time it sounds more like a football game. Woodpeckers however, not good anywhere!
When I used to skateboard a little in the late '70s or early '80s maybe I would've loved living in...

When I've had hotel rooms, or a unit in a big city building, I've often wished to have the top floor as I can't stand much of people making noise above my head. Sometimes I can get that but usually not, even when specifically booking under those terms. I always get the clog dancer with a wooden leg...

I've always been fascinated by Magazines, even foreign languages ones I will want to look inside. I remember some at some large international newsstand in Turkish and Greek with their exotic seeming alphabets... also would see a lot of Chinese and Japanese newspapers and comics in certain areas and...

'The Gammage Cup'. I forget the author but I've always remembered the title and the basic story. I found it really absorbing at whatever age I was, probably around 11, wanted to go live in the book, but I was the same about Heidi and Charlotte's Web!
I should try and find it again.

I remember things like this but I never seemed to get more than one or two random editions (never mind the binder for the full set that was advertised). Still have one sole number from a long series on Rock & Roll history, the 2-Tone ska one. I did have some animals magazines/chapters, one of the...

The English speaking world has been subjected to the most disinformation, both very deliberate and carried further by fringe 'true believers' who somehow think themselves smart while swallowing conspiracies and lies hook line and sinker as they used to say! Alternate realities are best left to science...

I don't remember it, would've been four or so and not really watching news yet, but I did see a story about one of the survivors in the news much later in the wake of Alton...

I'd love one of those globe chairs on the pedestal that were plastic on the outside and upholstered inside and can swivel... even better; the ones with speakers inside the left and the right! I'd feel like I was living Space:1999!

Deadliest day of the virus in the U.S. yesterday, still people gathering in large numbers (cough) some of which I know made ITV, Sky and BBC news. Here there's been a scandal of politicians who would tell people not to travel and then went off to vacation in some warmer country! Land crossings at borders...

Had a Big Mac, fries and small shake last night, used a coupon. They are the best chain for coupons here.

Tower blocks.
Have residential tower blocks been brought up before? Not really something a lot of people would be nostalgic for, many seem deliberately characterless, unlike for the old Coronation Street type row housing they replaced. It seems in the UK and America there was some sort of idealistic hard rule that...

Going back before I was born there was a Herman's Hermits (probably an old music hall number before them) that went "I'm 'Enery the eighth I am, 'Enery the eighth I am I am."

Really sad news. I like so many of his records!

I was disappointed in the second album by The Sundays. Oddly a lot of people say it was their favorite but I found at best one track worth having whereas I loved the first, and the much later, third albums. To a lesser degree I found the second album by the New York group Television disappointing, except...
