It rings a bell - was this on in the post-World of Sport / Robin of Sherwood sort of slot of 5.30 pm on ITV on Saturdays during the spring and summer mlonths, circa 1985-1986? I think that there was a series called Return to Treasure Island or something like that.

Radio 4 also transmitted a radio adaptation also called Henry's leg around Christmas 1998 and was repeated in August 2001. By the way, his bedroom was called Midford Tip because of how messy and untidy it was according to Henry's mother.

I thought that it was Henry's Leg as well - it was set in the fictional town of Midford and Courtney Roper-Knight played the title role of 11-year-old Henry Hooper (not Cooper!).
