Did anyone have a nike jacket in the early 80's? They were really thin with a hood and they were two colours top and bottom? I had a blue and grey one?

Re: nike jackets
Hi escorteclipse, I recall these Jackets well from the 1980s and have some similar jackets now (though not the original versions). I recall them well from the 1980s/1990s with them being called them in general being called/reffered to as WindRunners in the region I was in. Why though I never liked them in the 1980s/1990s now though is a mystery and amazes me thinking of how they used to be.Originally posted by escorteclipse1990 View PostI remember a lad having one in school in about 1987, that was also blue and grey.

Re: nike jackets
My first one, which was in about 85 I think, was dark blue & light blue,
Plus the Nike emblem was embroided, and the zip was a special Nike one.
My cousin had one around the same time, blue & grey, with the embroided emblem, but just a standard zip.
They did start making similar ones a few years back, but they were with standard zips & printed emblems
I still bought one though, my original is in my parents loft waiting to be passed on to the next generation...............

Re: nike jackets
When watching old footage of programmes from the 1980s - WindRunners looked ace (far better than I recall). Though I'm unsure if it's an accurate assessment but somehow they seem to be a far bigger sucsess story these day's (I guess though this may be to do with the material) though in another way material's are poor-er clothes wise these day's I think - so I am still lost in a way as to my assessment - though I guess it's just a case of a "hunch" people have regards certain things.
In my day too - the few kids who did don WindRunners wore Tracksuit's Tops over or under them - though I am unsure if it was a trend exclusive to the region I lived in then at the time - as after I think by about 1990/91/92 Sheelsuits seemed to overtake WindRunners I think and one had to loose out or merge into one - as Shellsuits did - more so after Rodney in the OFAH "Miami Twice" Episode made the trend hit bigger heights than ever (combined into one top) I have always felt

Re: nike jackets
Ah yes, the good old Nike Windcheater, had one in the 80s, was my favourite thing back then, mine was Dark Grey and Light Grey, I really wanted the blue one but they didn't have any when I went to get one and I _had_ to get one there and then.
Not the warmest jacket ever but they looked cool, and that's what counts.

Re: nike jackets
Me too - I really wanted one too Mulletino - these jackets just claimed "style" by just seeing them. Though of course in the 1980s/1990s people had not so much choice about the latest fashionable garment (unlike in later years) before "must have's" extented to about 25/30 desired items of clothing. Luckily though I think it is fair to say (or I hope it may be) to say that the WindRunner/WindCheater has firmly become a legend in it's own right (just like the Leather Jacket did because of John Travolta and Grease)Originally posted by Mulletino View PostAh yes, the good old Nike Windcheater, had one in the 80s, was my favourite thing back then, mine was Dark Grey and Light Grey, I really wanted the blue one but they didn't have any when I went to get one and I _had_ to get one there and then.

Re: nike jackets
Cool mate - u shopuld show a pic of it (if you wanted) it'd be nice to see (well great actually) to compare a real-life 80s version to today's effort and see if I ccan be corrected that they are better made these days!!Originally posted by agfagaevart View PostStill got my dark blue / light blue one which I bought around 1984 somewhere. Re: nike jackets
Unfortunately that isn't possible because they don't make them anymore.Originally posted by 80sChav View PostCool mate - u shopuld show a pic of it (if you wanted) it'd be nice to see (well great actually) to compare a real-life 80s version to today's effort and see if I ccan be corrected that they are better made these days!!

In fact, they haven't made them for a long time.
There are quite a few similarish looking Nike jackets, but the proper ones haven't been made for decades.

Sorry Demon - I think you have got a little lost in the thread , as it appeared to me that agfagaevart has/or had one in the 80sOriginally posted by DemonEyeX View PostUnfortunately that isn't possible because they don't make them anymore.

If he/she was wiling to share even an 80s picture regardless of if they make them now or not, this'd of helped me, hopefully draw comparisons with the modern day versions. Sorryagain for any confusion
