In some American comics readers could send in clothing designs and see their names in print... didn't they ever do that with Bunty or Twinkle, or not think of it? I remember gluing some paper dolls to heavier card paper before cutting them out (but not the clothes). They had slots and extra bits so they could stand up if you did that, but mostly I would cut a figure out from a comics story and then I'd draw clothes on blank paper with tabs and colour and cut them out, but much of it didn't last for long. Later I saw a paper dolls page in a Stingray comic but left them alone; don't want to damage the comics like I did when I was little (bad enough if there was something taped to the front and the tape took off some of the art)!

We always got new comics when I was either sick in bed, or if we were visiting people without kids. In my early teens I bought Doctor Who Weekly at first, had the first four, and should've kept them! Kids traded comics around at school, but I had traders and then ones I wanted to keep, and I did keep the Doctor Whos for quite awhile, near new with the rub-down transfer sheet still on the first one. I do not want to think what they'd be worth now...

Big Tupper fan here - parts of this story have not aged well though:

Ok, sounds like a compilation to me, best bits of other comics such as Whizzer and Chips, Cor and the like.

I think it used to be called Funny Fortnightly, and was very similar to Whizzer and Chips.
