i'm trying to find pictures of sweater shop clothes for a trip down memry lane email.......... anyone got any ideas where to find em. i've googled but nothing really came up >>????

of course i do, its my best jumper......not really mine, you can find it for sale now on Ebay, Mum did have a lovely stripy one though, which was really bright

Jumpers with stars on

I remember proudly going out wearing one of these in seventies.

Black with a bright yellow waistband, yellow piping round the V neck and three big yellow stars on my chest.

Thought I was so cool , got into 'the underage learner pub' and there must have been eight or nine identicals, the market trader had been busy that day!

Scabby toes in summer

Lads always got these in summer hols, we were the 'pre-trainer' generation.
You had your big solid school shoes, wellies for winter and plimsolls for PE at school.Only time you saw any trainers was on gym teacher.
This meant that , at start of school hols , your Mam took you into town and got some sandals for you.

Within two days you had plasters everywhere... on your toes cos you were used to shoe protection, all round the sides of your feet cos sandal buckles dug in when you were running and on the soles of your feet cos stones came bouncing in .

Some got 'bumpers' i.e. baseball boots but they were generally deemed unhealthy and anyways only seemed to last a fortnight.

By end of summer your feet were red raw and even had sunburn!

It's great for kids now cos they just get trainers

My brother had a pair of "Bumpers", whenever I think of him as a lad I always see him in his woolworths Blue Tracksuit with the white stripes down the legs and arms(Us Girls had exactly the same tracksuits in red) A Sure summer fashion staple along with our kagools, they went on holiday with us every year

my many fashion mistakes

include the god awful shellsuit - i had 3 of these (all from the market no less ) , 2 in purple and the other some weird peach colour.

lyrca neon pink/green clothes (again from the market , i see there is a pattern emerging here)

cycling shorts/culottes

dungarees (mine were bottle green with roses on )

can anyone think of any other bad fashions?
