Excellent pic. I remember that design fondly. Everything from the royal seal to the font and the artwork looks so much classier than the plastic rubbish we have now.
Funny how times change, when I was a kid Cadbury were the chocolate makers and such things as their Fruit & Nut bar was, to my young eyes, a highly sophisticated looking product that was to be cherished like gold if I was ever given even the smallest of pieces by my parents. Nowadays however, with increased competition from companies trading on their cocoa content and provenance, Cadbury has been somewhat demoted to a second class brand. To my mind though, this status shift has not only not been resisted but also encouraged by the evolution of the product itself. Small things like the smart artwork, fonts and Royal Seal communicated a certain pride in the product together with a sense of Britishness and prestige that is totally lacking today.
Anyways, thanks again for the memories.

How can something be resisted and then encouraged?
Anyhow, Cadbury's is **** now. Its no longer British for one thing but even long before that the taste of their Chocolate had a sort of vegetable oil flavour to it. Its not even laced with much Cocoa nowadays. The bars get smaller by the month, the price goes up, up, up. Continental Chocolate, when you are actually abroad [I]tastes[I] like chocolate [I]should[I] taste, rich in cocoa content; dark chocolates taste a tiny bit bitter, whilst milk chocolate sweets taste both milky and chocolatey. Cadbury's today is awful.
They should be ashamed of what they've done to themselves since the 1980s as thats when their product went downhill.....to be precise, circa 1987 onward as thats when my family started noticing the quality, taste and size began to diminish...and don't get me started on their clever rebranding from 'CADBURY'S' to.....CADBURY WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY, DROPPING AN 'S'...
