Re: The best ever chocolate bar
The thing is, though, they could end up doing away with everything with peanuts in (we just can't be too careful!). It was bad enough that they got rid of the peanut Revel and introduced a raisin one in its place. Now the raisin Revel is OK, but I'd much prefer it if they'd reinstate the peanut one and get rid of the coffee!Originally posted by huggie74 View PostScared to death of someone having a reaction and suing the pants off em LOL

Re: The best ever chocolate bar
I loved chunky peanut kitkat. Balanced out the sicklyness of a normal chunky kitkat. Fingers are better IMO.

Interesting thought, but surely the US is Litigation City?
and anyway, where on Earth did this "peanut allergy" rubbish spring from??
Don't remember that in the 60's/70's/80's
Sounds like a cop-out to me.. much like this "Bi-Polar" ****

Yep
Another one that came and went..
Loved the Kitkat, always will, but was not that impressed by the chunky version
(I liked the little fingers
)
But the Peanut Kitkat was lovely, much like the Peanut Lion bar that was short lived.
Why don't the English like Peanut bars??

Re: The best ever chocolate bar
Eh?
Peanut Yorkie gone??
Shows you how much attention I take nowadays.
I always buy the Raisin & Biscuit one, but assumed the peanut variety was still available.
Surprised Yorkie has lasted this long to be honest, considering its nothing special really.
Considering the other fondly remembered bars than were quite unique (Prize, Secret, Nutty, Texan), that fell by the wayside, odd that a milk chocolate bar, really no different from a Fruit & Nut or any of the Dairy Milk variants, has survived so long..
No justice
Seems to be an issue with 'peanut' bars in the UK.
In the US, 90% of their candy bars are nutty
Can't beat nuts.. Loved the Nutty bar & BanjosLast edited by sixtyten; 24-10-2011, 00:12.

Re: The best ever chocolate bar
Toffee Mallow eggs were really nice. They were made by Mackintosh of York I think. The Tyne Tees area was used to trial Wispa bars in 1981. I remember them well! Loved em.Originally posted by Mark_Wilson View PostThe original Wispa. I tried it on holiday in Cornwall in 1984 (we didn't get them in my part of the country until much later), and it was just the best thing ever. The reincarnated (and flatter) Wispa bar, for some reason, is just not the same.
Also, not a bar, but an egg - A toffee and mallow egg, the same size as a Cadbury's Creme Egg. They are my all-time favourite snack-sized chocolate eggs, and were sadly discontinued many years ago.
