  • J Lyons & Co...

I was looking on the net for the older FAB lolly wrappers by Lyons, and came across this really concise history of J Lyons & Co itself...its full of lots of info. I was surprised to know they actually owned Wimpy, Dunkin Donuts and Baskin - Robbins back then...My parents mentioned they used to shop sometimes at a Lyons Supermarket - there was one at their Cadby Hall facility on Hammersmith Road before demolition...maybe that was the one they used to talk about...

They owned a chain to tea rooms from Victorian times until the 1950s-60s.

My Grandmother worked in a Lyon's Tea Shop in London and it was through Lyons that she met my Grandfather .......he was a session musician who was on the books and played in their restaurants.
