According to other web sites Cheese Whiz is the American version of Kraft Cheddarie as shown in your Vid clip jo. Just no evidence around of the original

does anyone remember the bright orange cheese spread that you used to get in jars. St Ivel and sunpat used to make it, but it disappeared leaving me lost and bewildered and toast just doesn’t taste the same. think i was about 10 when it was kidnapped by aliens..*sob* please come back all is forgiven.

                  Re: Cheddarie

                  Hi everyone,

A few years back I wrote to Kraft asking what had happened to Cheddarie (the one we used to get in the UK in a tub) and they said it had been discontinued. Cracker Barrel used to do their own version too (that probably had a red label). I dont remember Cheddarie ever in a jar however i'm going to Oz in December so I'm going to bring back bucketloads!!! I remember the St. Ivel Red Leicester cheesespread too but I dunno what happened to that, another company used to do a yummy blue cheesespread as well and that too disappeared. (I've always been a bit obsessed!)

Just to let you know you can get a microwavable cheesespread in a bottle from Tesco called Squeezy Cheese but personally I think it tastes like sick. BUT McLellan Seriously Smooth, a cheese make, now do their mature cheddar as a spread - which is really nice and the closest thing you'll find to Cheddarie in the UK.

I just dont get why they got rid of cheddary and we get left with a million cheese spreads like dairylea that all taste the same!

Hey Hi Everyone, new on here, and my 1st post. So apologises if its wrong.

Yes I remember this so well. It was Made from Sunpact, and came in a brown Jar with Red/orange Lid.

Later on they then came up with a milder version one that Huggie posted the picture. This was by no means as good as the orange glue, we use to smear on our toast, then blacken under the grill.

I too, was told that they sold this in Tesco, I have never seen it in there. but the other month, whilst shopping in both Morrisions and Asda, came across a cheese which is probably the closest thing you will ever get to it. it was where the brown and red sauces were on the shelves, and was in a squeezy orange bottle (although I never managed to squeeze it) had to use a knife to get it out, and was called I think " Old fashioned Cheese". Although sorry :cry:to disapoint have looked for it since and cannot find it again. If Any one should come across it, post on here and I am sure, that alot of ppl will be daydreaming again and reminising of what they were doing when they last had some. Yummy.

Also yes it was only got from Kwick save.
