Ice-cream topping

I'm sure there this will be remembered by many but for the life of me, the name escapes me...

I'm thinking of a chocolate sauce that was poured onto ice-cream that, if left for a couple of minutes, set into a solid topping. I think it came in a number of flavours but I only ever had the chocolate one -didn't taste much like chocolate mind you. The packaging was conical, and the irregular-shaped screw lid sat on top like a splodge of the topping itself.

Can anyone remember the name? and do you know if they still make it!?

Hi it was called Ice Magic ( called magic Hard Shell in America)
apparently it is still sold here in the UK YUM I shall be looking out for this myself now!

Accourding to my findings on line Silver Spoon do a version called Monster Crackin and it is around abouts £1.22 per bottle from Tesco

aha! Tescos is only a few minutes ride further than my local Sainsbury's, I think I'll swing by there tonight!

Just checked on line and they Deffo stock it YAY .So you should not have a wasted journey.
Tell you what, you try it and report back on whether or not I should spend my £1.22, and if its the same as you remember the Ice Magic tasting.

We still have Ice Magic here in Oz. Though I think it is made by an Australian company Cottee's. Does anyone remember which company made the English version?

Well, I tried to get some at my local Tesco's in Lewisham tonight but no luck (I bought some ice cream anyway of course, so it wasn't a total loss ) I'll keep searching though!

Hi Stevef, when I googled it earlier Cottee's was the only brand name I saw - perhaps it's an Aussie export?

Our Tescos have it but it's fairly unpleasant. The mint choc one is okay though.

Urgggggh - I can remember having it and throwing up afterwards - never had it again

My fave toppings on icecream is chocolate sauce with hundreds and thousands sprinkled over it... a chocolate flake and maybe a few almonds... don't ask for much in life do I?
