Nice (and I never thought I'd be saying that about a crisp packet 36 years on from when I was munching the contents). That constant re-invention, re-shaping and packaging of UK crisps is long gone now, sadly but I'm damned if I can remember when it started to fizzle out. Horror Bags had some great collect-the-bags-and-send-'em-off offers. Wish that I'd saved some but then I could say that about umpteen things from my youth.
I'm based in the USA, but have become a big fan of vintage UK packaging. If there are any other collectors out there who would be into trading, selling, or just discussing - drop me a PM or you can also reach me via Flickr. -Jason
This thread brings memories flooding back. Thanks folks. You never think of keeping this stuff as a kid. There maybe some lurking in my mums attic though?
Incredible thread full of sensational photographs.I love the tv advert, especially the ending where he is straddling a lampost.I could have sworn i wrote a reply in this thread months ago,but it seems i didn't.I wonder how many other threads i have read and loved and presume i replied on,but haven't?
I think i will add the topic of smiths horror bags to my ebay searches in the future.
