The advert for Wickers went something along the lines of a medieval kings court and i seem to remember some kind of jesters face on the advert and or packet. I remember the flavour was chicken and i also remember they werent around for long , 2 years maybe 3 tops i guess.

Its got to be around 81/82 ish when they were out.

I have heard it mentioned, amd I myself remember buying small very brittle sticks of Licorice as a kid,but I don't recall it having a name.I think it was sold in jars behind the counter (like they did in the old days).
I seen it mentioned on quite a few other sweet forums,so it must be fondly remembered

Also anyone remember the KP Skydiver crisps..they rocked :-)
I remember Wickers - I have a photo of me on holiday in 1983 tucking into a packet while watching TV - I only remember prawn cocktail flavour though

                    Anyone remember Tudor Crisps?

I found an empty packet a couple of years ago from 1975 I wished I'd kept it.

Yeah thats right, I think on the packet i found the gift was lucky charms.

Can remember the advert and the classic "I'll climb a mountain for a bag of Tudor" line?

Did anyone else's local shop have a half penny box and a penny box?

You could pick as many as you wanted (well afford ) for a penny or half penny each.

                          They had things like

                          mojo's
                          cola bottles
                          milk bottles
                          flying saucers (mmm)
                          candy mice
                          liquorice strings

During the summer they used to do penny lollies too, which were basically home made cordial lollies, but tasted great on those long summer holiday afternoons.

Yep, If you found 10p in the street you could buy a big bag of sweets in the early 70's. Fruit salad/Blackjacks were 3 for a penny. I found a tenner once in about 1974..a lot of money then
but was made to give my sister 1/2 of it..I was NOT pleased

yes we had them, would drive the shop keeper mad, standing humming and arrhing for ten minutes, 20 sweets for 10p, those were the days.
