The advert for Wickers went something along the lines of a medieval kings court and i seem to remember some kind of jesters face on the advert and or packet. I remember the flavour was chicken and i also remember they werent around for long , 2 years maybe 3 tops i guess.
Its got to be around 81/82 ish when they were out.
Posted on behalf of my mum, Can any one remember Spanish Juice?? They were small sticks of licorice type stuff but not chewy. Hope mum does not mind me adding she was born in 1947, may help date it!!!
I have heard it mentioned, amd I myself remember buying small very brittle sticks of Licorice as a kid,but I don't recall it having a name.I think it was sold in jars behind the counter (like they did in the old days).
I seen it mentioned on quite a few other sweet forums,so it must be fondly remembered
Looking at the Bitza Pizza bag reminded me of Wickers. They were both around at the same time but while Bitz Pizza where little pizza slice shapes Wickers where like a little woven crisp basket affair and tasted real nice .
Also anyone remember the KP Skydiver crisps..they rocked :-)
I remember Wickers - I have a photo of me on holiday in 1983 tucking into a packet while watching TV - I only remember prawn cocktail flavour though
During the summer they used to do penny lollies too, which were basically home made cordial lollies, but tasted great on those long summer holiday afternoons.
Yep, If you found 10p in the street you could buy a big bag of sweets in the early 70's. Fruit salad/Blackjacks were 3 for a penny. I found a tenner once in about 1974..a lot of money then
but was made to give my sister 1/2 of it..I was NOT pleased
