  • Re: Defunct sweets?

Here is a challenge for someone, unless it is already on here. Anyone remember Duets? They had two bars , similar to Bountys, they were in pink and white wrapping, the bar was a very soft nougat with a soft toffee centre. These where for sale late 60s to early 70s. I think they were made my Mars, but not too sure on that. They were scrumptious.

This has most probably been mentioned already, but seeing there are 109 pages, I thought instead of reading through, which would take me absolute ages I would just mention Bar 6. It was in an orange paper and was a bit like a Kit Kat.

Used to be made in York. Now made in Sweden, Belgium, Poland or Slovakia.

Sorry if this have been mentioned previously (I've only gone through 50 out of the 109 pages). Does anyone remember a Rhumba (or Rumbar?). Would have been early 70's when my mum used to send me to the corner shop to buy them - like an adult Milky Way with rum (and possibly raisin?) flavour inside. Also, around the same time, was a Welcome bar which she liked - possibly from Cadbury's and short lived but can't remember the flavour.

Thanks - Yes I think that could well have been it - the contents description, and the pre-decimal price, means it could have been around 1969/1970 which ties in with my memories. I think the Welcome bar must have had the Milky Way type filling. My mum love both of them.

There is a picture of a Welcome bar wrapper here...though it is from Cadburys Ireland. It sounds like your description so maybe it's the same thing.

Yes that's definitely it! It was certainly available in the UK as I remember buying it. Thanks for your help.

Not seen Toffifee for ages will have to see if you can still get these? Might be better suited on old skool
