      Re: Defunct sweets?

I remember the sweet cigarettes very well.

You could also get ones that were made of chocolate with an edible paper covering and came in a pack of 20 and were called after real brand names like Camel.

Also, sweet tobacco which was strands of coconut with a coating of some brown stuff!! Tasted a bit like those coconut mushrooms .
Even came in a pack like an ounce of Old Holborn...

Is it any wonder I am now a 30 a day smoker !!!

you can still get the sweet tobacco. My husband says he used to get a chocolate smokers kit every christmas, would have chocolate cigarettes and a chocolate pipe. And who remembers the liquorice pipes that had the red bobbles at the end?

                Re: Defunct sweets?

The was a craze with 'our lot' in tha late 70's for sweet cigarettes. The corner shop near us sold 'Batman' sweet ciggies so we used to go and ask for "10 Batman please!"

The sweet ciggies were kool, and the bubble gum with the cards, trading cards guess they'd be called now, Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 ones, and Captain Scarlet wafers too......

Another one I have just remembered was Harlequin chocolates.

Came in a box a bit like quality street.

Think they were all a bit weird flavour combinations or I might have made that last bit up !!

Nothing on the PP bar yet, although I hated them as a kid, way to sickly for my tastes.I also remember Icebreaker and a star trek bar that was the same size as a PP,but white choc with tiny coloured balls (like hundreds & thousands) in it
