Captain Scarlet Bars............

1970 - 71 possibly, I remember my Mum only allowing me to have these as a treat. So she used to put them in a high cupboard above the sink (It did not stop me from climbing up and nicking one occasionaly though!) Naughty!

Anyway, they were the same as Penguin bars but the wrapping was stunning. Metallic cover, with a picture of Captain Scarlet, Captain White and so on.

I would love to see one again?

They were around from the late 60's into the 70's. They also did Magic Roundabout ones too..

Is that "Paul" in the image on the left and if so was he modelled on Sir Paul McCartney? Ah yes I can just make out his name... I think he was don't you?

As I recall, the chocolate was that cheap stuff that sticks to the roof of your mouth, like the stuff they use for those waxy chocolate footballs

I know the sort you mean, you used to get nasty cheap Easter eggs made in the same stuff, sold on markets.

So sad when the packaging far surpasses the contents.

These were well before my time but I was just dribbling over the Thunderbird ones thinking they look so much chunkier and yummier than Penguins. What a shame they had cheap chocolate :/

What a fantastic selection of chocolate wrappers! But, unfortunately, none of them are the same as the ones I used to get!

the same size and thickness as a penguin bar with heavy metalic wrap a picture of the Specific Captain eg: Captain Blue on a blue background with wording in a line with a possible black underlining?

May have come in a pack of 6!

There is mention of Captain Scarlet wafers on the board some where, perhaps its these you recall rather than the cheap solid chocolate bars?
