We're just going out into town NOW to start the Xmas shop ... 2:09 Christmas Eve !
Waited over an hour for the bus so I could get some last minute Christmas shopping as well - only just got back.

My wife popped out this morning for a few last minute things, but we try to avoid Christmas Eve shopping if we can. A few years ago we were part of an ad hoc church choir formed especially to do a stint entertaining shoppers at a local Tesco for charity. On the Christmas Eve we finished about 9.30pm and by then the place was so much quieter than it had been earlier that day that we stopped and got a few things--first and as so far only time I have shopped that late on Christmas Eve.
Christmas must have started for you hours ago, Donald / Craig!
I can remember staying up on Christmas Eve in 1988 - 30 years ago - when Christmases were a lot more exciting!
Anyway, I am watching the Midnight Mass with a glass of Harvey's Bristol Cream not far from where I am.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM!

Yep George Sydney is about 9 hours ahead of the UK. It was warm so plenty of cold meats and seafood for our Chrissie lunch. Followed by a cool dip in the pool. Hope you and your had a good day too.

It wasn't too bad.
Did you see the Queen on the TV where you are?

I admire Queen Liz but it does not reach to listening to her warbling on every Chrissie. No doubt our avid monarchists listened to her every word with bated breath.

Don't worry about it - I am a die-hard traditionalist especially at this time of year.

Only have time for three Royals and only one , Harry is alive ..
At school, infant/junior school that is, I remember that after Christmas we were allowed to bring in a toy and play with it. There was also toy day, which was right at the end of the summer term, but I also have memories of taking a toy to school after starting back after Christmas. Did anyone else have that?

I mostly remember these at the last day of term, but one teacher wouldn't let us one time because someone once had something nicked when they brought it in.
