Re: 80's/90's insults and other things

Spaker was always a poplar one. Along with retard, joey and skip rat. There was many more but they're way too offensive now. A mixed race lad at school was called a half chat (no idea why) and kiora ( as in diluted black). Very cruel.
    Heaven knows I'm miserable now.

Re: 80's/90's insults and other things

      I remembered some more.

Gestapo - Hall monitors and prefects.

Push-overs. part timers, babysitter - Supply teachers.

      Crank - Teacher.

      Mini-crank - Student teacher.

Sicknote - Someone who has a lot of time off.

Skipper - Someone who chose to either turn in late to class (usually morning) or play truant.

Pawn - Referred to either msallest kid in class or year 7's.

Grass, snake, snake in the grace, Big Ben - Someone who reported a school infraction.

Diva disagreement - Fist fight between two girls.

The Cartel - The group of dinner ladies running the show in the year 8 and above dining room.

Flying solo - Originally meant Isolation as a punishment, but to the end of the school years meant masturbation...

30/60/90/120 minute start penalty - The start was home time, the penalty being the amount of after school detention you received.

Spotter, hawk, hawkeyes - Person that used to warn smokers that teachers were coming.

Pegs, twigs, sticks - Smokes. The word changed fast to stop teachers catching on what smokers were talking about.

Rubber bus fare - For some reason if you had to walk home because you ran out of money it was called this. I think it was insinuating that you spent the rubber on your shoes but that's only a guess.

There are others I am trying to remember concerning groups of people but I cannot remember them just now. Maybe they'll pop into my head eventually.

I remember the chin stroking one but we always used to shout "Jimmy" as we did it, a reference to Jimmy Hills chisel like profie, this later morphed into "Jim Reck"

I remember the chin stroking with the saying "Chinny Winston", no idea where it came from.

Some people at school used to say it for anything slightly unusual.

Not heard either for a while but both of the above are said around here in Staffordshire.
My brother Ian use to use (wazzock) pronounced Wazzack at lot.

It was derived from Joey Deacon, who appeared on Blue Peter sometime in the 80's. He suffered from Cerebral Palsy, the symptoms of which kids found hilarious.
