I recently mentioned to friends how my mum always wrapped her hair up in a turban when she came out the bath, to be met with a chorus of "yeah, so did mine!". We all agreed that we looked on with a sense of wonder and puzzlement. Why did they do it? Why didn't they just give it a quick rub with the towel like us? How did they do it and how did it stay in place? You wonder on for years until one day you start doing it yourself!

mu mum still does it.
ive always known her to do it.
must admit i thought it very odd when i first seen her do it.
still not sure why women do it.
is it to keep hair tidy,to stop water dripping from the hair.FOR THE HONOUR OF GRAYSKULL

I do it and I don't even know why! I even did it when my hair was cropped short, then my hair would be too dry to style when I took the towel off so I'd have to wet it again! I think I do it to keep my hair out of the way while I faff on with clothes and makeup.1976 Vintage
