We sometimes got that lemon soap, zest I think it was called and I'm pretty sure there was a similar sort of fresh-type soap out then too, but not lemony. Was it called Shield? My memory thinks it was light blue and a bit streaky. Nanna had a block of carbolic at the kitchen sink. I still love that smell.

I had totally forgotten about Shield! It was blue and white in a streaky effect! Smelled very strong too. If I remember rightly Shield and Zest were marketed as 'deodorant' soaps. (whatever that means! lol)
Pears and Palmolive soap were always popular in our house in the 70's. Sometimes we had Imperial Leather soap with the paper sicker on the bar!

My Mum used to use Camay! I can still smell it!!

That Advert was the cause of a long standing joke in our house. Mum would send us up for our washes in the morning,we'd get half way upstairs and she'd yell 'and I mean get a proper wash not a Camay wash'. When we came down she's check behind out ears for 'taters' lol

Anyone remember the adverts for Camay where the woman would rub a perfect circle of soap on her cheeks? I used to pretend to be in the Camay advert when I washed my face, but we never had Camay. We used to have those cheap packs of soap. About 5 bars in a pack all different colours.

Linco Beer Shampoo was always sold in sachets. We always had shampoo in bottles but I remember seeing sachets in the chemists and supermarkets. Also packet hair colour like 'Shaders' and 'Toners' and Inecto 'Hint of a Tint'. I used to use Intecto Hint of a Tint 'Platinum' to keep my Billy Idol look nice and white!!!

as far as i know the can still be found.
did vosene come in a mainly green sachet.

We also had omo washing powder , flash floor cleaner and remember vim !
