Even the BBC have the same breed of actors in their series - mostly cockney London types because most series are set in London.

The BBC seemed to not mind certain directors casting actors on a regular basis, especially in Doctor Who, though as this often required specialist actors for playing non-human characters it's fairly justified.

Probably - look at how many Yorkshire TV series Keith Barron and Bill Maynard appeared in.

It's interesting how many Coronation Street actors have been in other Granada productions such as Crown Court and series like that - it's like ITV companies having their own "in house" agents in which actors are probably limited to work for other companies.

She was very good in Emmerdale. I think maybe the high point was the storyline where she was sectioned. Sorry to learn of her death at a fairly young age. :cry:

Not much of an Emmerdale viewer, but I assume that Zoe Tate was related to Kim Tate in the soap?

My late mother passed away from lung cancer 20 years ago, and she was also in her mid 50s - the 20 year anniversary is in a couple of months' time.

Itt is in Today's Papers that Leah who famously played Zoey Taite on Emmerdale sadly passed away from Cancer in Sept. Sadly Leah had had Cancer since 2016

What an iconic character Zoey was on Emmerdale in the 90s and mid noughties I always thought and found - as Zoey's battles with Kim Tate made emmerdale cool I thought - not as I watched it regular or even do now - but Leah's acting skills upped the shw another level entirley character-wise with the Tate Family I thought
