Onward christian soldiers. All things bright and beautiful. When a knight won his spurs. Morning has broken. Amazing grace. Lord of the dance. Drunken sailor. The ink is black. One that went "There is a green hill far away without a city wall". Once in Royal Davids City. Little Donkey. In the bleak midwinter. Haven't got a clue about entry / exit music for assembly.

                    Re: School!

There is only one song, that reminds me of School or really could. Though of course I recall great song's from just before or after my School era, eg Bryan Adams - Everything I Do (I Do It For You), Chesney Hawks - The One and Only, Wet Wet Wet Love Is All Around and Goodnight Girl and a bit later on Oasis with Don't Look Back In Anger is a very special song for me - as it was the interim years of being a schoolie-sort of young adult!

The song that I love tghough time and again in relation to it reminding me of School is Queen + George Michael + Lisa Stansfield with These Are The Day's Of Lives .... Not the greratest song ever sung I think, but the lyrics are sensational!!

One hymn that takes me straight back to school assemblies is 'O Jesus I have Promised' sung to a jaunty tune.

I remember this one was quite hard to sing in places & one of my friends calling it Jesus I have Chicken Pox!

There were a few odd things that went on when hymns at school, sometimes I would try to hit really high notes during Lord Of The Dance.

One teacher used to complain that some pupils were just mouthing along & not singing, "like a tank of goldfish" as she put it!

When I was little, I used to wonder why it was significant that it didn't have a city wall. Years later, I twigged that "without" can also mean "outside".
