        Re: Pirate reading books

        Hi ,
I remember these books. I was only thinking about them the other day. Like your self i used to look forwards to going from one colour book to another colour. I would love to own a set just for the memories. Also do you remember the Alpha and beta maths books we used to use in maths lessons?.

                    Re: School Reading books

Don't remember who wrote the pirate books, but they used to bore the **** out of me!

Much preferred the Village With 3 Corners, had a pretty dark mythology for a kids' book series.

Yes I remember these Pirate books very well. In fact I learnt to read with them. I think they date back to the 60's and were so good that they perservered into the 70's.

It's funny, these books were one of the few that were actually any good. Everything else schools gave you were the most boring they could find !

These books taught me to read too. I remember that as the series went on, they were a bit more difficult than the last. I enjoyed reading them and the stories were engaging. Thanks Sheila K. McCullagh.
