One night he was driving us all back from a party and the engine suddenly went from its old rattley self to a lovely smooth, almost silent burble. Within 2 minutes it seized solid and would never run again. Most cars make a horrible noise before they die, this one whispered its goodbyes.

Lime green, bet it had brown/orange seats? sounds like an earlier Chrysler one? Possibly a MK 1?

When your Talbot stops rattling, be afraid!

Our's was very old, it was an old "B" Reg and was 9 years old in 1994 when we had her (it could of been 93' when we got her, but I doubt i'm right there) though. She died about 1997/98 I think.

Nice work sf1378, that's another one spotted!

Also, when Margaret Thatcher went into No 10 in 1979, she walks past a royal blue one!

Theres a grey one in The Wild Geese film, it kept popping up in the scenes in the first half of the film.

Every time I go to a carboot sale and see a manual of a car I even vaugly like, I snap it up immediately, Have a shelf full of Haynes, Autodata and Inter-Europe manuals. Found a digital copy of the Triumph Stag dealer manual so thats now safely on a memory stick! I hate making up new wiring looms, it is the single most depressing and frustrating thing on the planet. It's not so much the blisters you get from crimping and threading new wiring through, but the stickiness of the old loom to have to dis-assemble in the first place! Done it twice so far, only motorbikes but I hated it! :P
