2 things I remember from this.

First we were given a commemorative coin at school to mark the occasion and mine was stolen from me on the way home from school by some kids from another school. They traced and made to give it back to me along with a big bag full of chocolate bars and sweets

Secondly I was on holiday at the time of the wedding in Sussex and watched it on tv in the guesthouse.
This is one of the first major events I remember.

My parents still have my commemorative coin, which came in a blue presentation box.

      Cor! Result!

My street had a big party in one of the back gardens and I felt I had to go.

The last solar eclipse of the 20th Century occurred in Europe and Asia witnessed by approximately 350 million people.

I can't believe this was 10 years ago, I remember it was very eerie when it happened.

I didn't get a full eclipse in Marple, but all the shadows that day looked funny. I made one of those pin hole views, but still hurt my eyes using it.

As well as the pin hole thing I made above, I tried looking at the reflection on a darkly painted car bonnet. This was causing me to see blue spots after a minute or so.
