  • Ceefax/Teletext Forum,

Though I know it's really like TV in a way, I remember for years and years before the internet became popular i'd spend many an hour trying to find "new pages" on Cefax/Teletext and found pages dedicated to TV Programes (there was a Grange Hill one too I recall best because i'm a mega fan of it) and it'd told you what was in the Series relevent to the time/year. It really really was like "an internet of the 90s" before it took off big time i've always felt.

I remember a Pen-Pals Pals page too on Ceefax (I think it was), it'd be good if there possibly might be somwhere on the Forums to talk about these hidden gems with others who might have fond memories possibly

    Thanks.

    Re: Ceefax/Teletext Forum,

I don't think we could dedicate a forum to Ceefax? teletext it's more of a discussion thread.

There's already a thread on what people used Ceefax for https://forums.doyouremember.co.uk/t...ghlight=ceefax

and a long thread on Teletext https://forums.doyouremember.co.uk/t...ghlight=ceefax
The only thing to look forward to is the past

This site has lots of nice pics of old teletext:

I still use the digital version of Ceefax a few times a day.

Surely no-one still uses it in these days of 24 hour rolling news?

                Re: Ceefax/Teletext Forum,

I find it's helpful to check the facts of the leading stories without having to wait until they come around on a news channel.

Also handy for finding the lastest sports results.

                    Re: Ceefax/Teletext Forum,

I used to record hours of it onto VHS. It wasn't for the news stories just that lounge style/cocktail music!! rather like the stuff on the old Testcard F.

                        Re: Ceefax/Teletext Forum,

Recently i found one video and pulled about 1hours worth of "Ceefax Music" from it which i transferred onto a CD. I think it was from the late 80's/early 90's.

seems a strange to do though.
