Unsolicited PM's?

Anyone else receive unsolicited messages from a member asking to chat?

I took the liberty to message Herr Grunwald as he's a mod about it. Apparently this either troubled individual or con artist in the making has been sending rather odd messages to a lot of us.

HG told me he banned 'her'...

If anyone has been messaged they may know the content of these private messages but my own opinion is that this was someone perhaps hoping to con us out of cash eventually...

If you do receive any pm's from members you don't know and they are advertising stuff or just don't feel right, please let either myself or Huggie74 know about them.

I've had 2, I just ignored them but was suspicious because they had a post count of 0.

the reason i seems suspicious is because whoever it was was doing it by pm.

I received three in total...I initially thought it was a newbie who'd read what I wrote about my Dad and had a similar circumstance, so I replied to the initial message. I asked what they wanted to chat about, then came something about being unhappy which reinforced my thought it was about bereavement....then came the big one, an odd reply about transgender issues. I wrote a sympathetic reply but felt I wasn't the best person to discuss the matter with. It was at that point I messaged HG and said I found it all a bit iffy. Once he said a few others have been contacted too I knew my hunch was right. I guess this is either someone who really does need help and isn't looking for it in the right places or some con artist who would have probably tried to reel us in with more sob stories and con the vulnerable out of money for a gender reassignment op...

Well, if it is the latter its a new one on me as its usually claims you've won a Euro lottery or some Nigerian claiming they need your bank account and sort code to deposit money from a Govt slush fund....

What is odd is that HG mentioned an actual facebook profile for this person...
