Sorry if i've put this thread in the wrong catergory, but looking over old post's and other Forums i've been on, I have seen threads about old songs from the 60s & 70s, and what'd be popular and still known - which are. Though i'd never thought of it along TV lines as to what will we remember when we are years older from say like now or like the old 1950s/start of the 1960s lot's of people appreciate - eg Dixon of Dot Green. Seeing as all the Soaps compete v each other for storylines, I don't know what'll be truly recalled fondly as there is'nt much left par say Soaps and reality TV Shows that created such an impact I think these day's - even from the later 1990s too.
The few I can think of are,
The Royal Family (it's strength being not outstaying it's welcome and giving the viewer the Specials at Xmas as and when)
The Office. Though I tried to like i'm not a major fan, but it defenitly fits a like or not case sneraio for viewers I think
Heartbeat. Easy deserving because of it's super run bstretching 2 possibly 3 decades (i'm unsure), though both not in full and it being so good at looking at a past time as it were
Only Fools and Horses.
I am struggling now to find more - Birds of a Feather - was similar to Heartbeat, how it captured differing eras in one (to sort of appreciate different way's) and is a possible contender, may-be the only other I can think of too is Waterloo Road. It really makes me think which couyld stand the "test of time", if many poar the one's i've mentioned as a lot are just not like the glory day's of The 2 Ronnie's - though that was more of a Sketch, but how many can run and run and still hold the key to being so appreciated is a puzzling one I find.
Thanks for any replies.
