Same here, especially after the media seemed to think it was going to be a complete disaster.

I enjoyed it this year, wish I could've got tickets for something but unfortunately couldn't afford it.

But I am hoping to go to the commonwealth games in 2014.

well its all over now and i must say i feel really sad.

Yes its had its problems but overall its been a great success.

its really been obne of the friendliest games.

volunteers have done a fantastic job.

two of my fave moments where with tom daley and jade jones.
jade in here semi final win in the taekwondo looks too the the heavens and said this is for you mum broiught a tear to my eyes.

and tom daley who recently lost his dad they both showed such courage.
see its not all about winning medals its about courage as well.

the flame actually came through my town which was a shock.
i was out to see it.
only time it will happen to me.


but its great the GB team have done so well better than was expected.
and still more chances iof medals to come.

I am not English, but I am British and I have always been and always will be proud to be British and will support our countrypeople whenever they need it.

I haven't fully embraced the Olympics. I watched the flame go through my town and the opening ceremony but I don't really like watching the actual events and I haven't been swept up in the hype and excitement of it all. I am glad we are doing so well though.

Thats how I feel about it really. I also don't like the over-hyping of people we've never heard about until the Olympics began - the coverage is overly reverential for me, unctuous even - but its good to see Englishmen and women happy about their nation for a change...

I have watched a lot more of these games than I thought I would. It's been very enjoyable. I watched none of the games last time around. I have thoroughly loved supporting Team GB, they are all superstars, whether they win or they don't. There is a lot of support for Team GB in Ulster. For me, the best wins have to be the older chap who was about 51 or so and he was on a horse and got a gold medal and the 6th gold medal for Sir Chris Hoy. Mo Farrah was incredible too.

yes that wasan amazing night 3 golds in the space of less than an hour.

greg rutherford winning was a real shock but real happy for mo and really really happy for jess ennis what a role model she is.

I'm loving the whole thing, and dread it being over. Our athletes are such an inspiration - even to achieve the Olympic qualifying standard is amazing, let alone win a medal - of any colour It's also nice to have some good news for a change instead of the usual depressing fodder.

Jess Ennis is amazing - so chuffed for her, she's so grounded and down-to-earth, but what about those performances by Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford last night too? What a night!!! But big-up to all our champions - and indeed to all our athletes and competitors - we're proud of you xxx

Also, can't help but feel a bit emotional about Michael Phelps retiring after so many outstanding performances - a true hero.

i think some people have just no interest in certain events even if the tickets are going very cheap.

its always this way at olympic games some venues dont sell out.




gymnastics has been poorly attended though which i expercted as i feel brits have no interest in it.
but the rowing,track cycling, road cycling, womens marathon beach vollyball have been very well attended.

There were lots of people willing to attend anything though Darren.

There has been a major b*lls up in some cases. I have friends/family/workmates who applied for anything at all just so they could attend but were told
that there were no tickets for any event (except the football).

As you can imagine they are far from happy seeing so many empty seats.

Tennis for example is very popular, but besides the Murray games there were tons of empty seats. The swimming was another poor show, lots of people wanted to see
Tom Daley and Becky Addlington but again rows and rows of empty seats.

The main stadium has been full though granted.

thats a big part of these olympics inspiring the next generation.

to think before the games started there where al these concerns the british public would not embrace the games.

well we have.
venues have been packed out.

even in the morning sessons in the olympic stadium have been packed out which ive not seen happen at other games.

for me the legacy of these games is very important.


you look at the few summer games the main olympic stadiums have been left to rot.

this wil not be allowed to have to these olympics.

a lot of these brit athletes get no or little funding and yet they still train very very hard.

only the top ones het big money.

as seb coe has said its not so much about how many medals britain win its about its legacy and having iconic moments that when you think of these games you wil remember those iconic moments.

They may have been for some events like the athletics, equestrian, and cycling events - but the empty seats have been embarrassing at other venues, particularly the swimming, gymnastics, and at Wimbledon. I couldn't believe the poor turn out for the Williams/Sharapova final.


I have two friends working down there and there's going to be a major inquest after the games about it. Must be so frustrating for those who desperately wanted tickets:cry:.

It has been enjoyable to watch though.
