Schools - or more precisely primary schools - are teaching computer science and programming. When I was at school they had ICT which was about using computers for office type things. Even in 2010 I was saying that schools will never teach computer science due to the inflexible nature of mass state education and a lack of interest in the subject by the teaching profession.
It was hard enough getting traditional science into primary schools back in the 1980s but at least NQT had studied the subject at secondary school. Computer science is a subject that very few NQT teachers even knew the basics of in 2010. In many secondary schools ICT was being taught by history or English teachers with only elementary knowledge of computers.
More banks to close because of online banking, libraries Post Offices everything is being thin down
I don't understand why they keep closing post offices as surely with eBay and the like people are sending and receiving more stuff through the post than EVER before - confused !!
Like you I don't understand why post offices are closing down. Every time I try to use one there's a queue a mile long and a half hour wait to be served.
My bank has recently boarded up two of its tills saying that they are no longer needed, and out of the two remaining tills only one ever gets used the other is conveniently broken down or out of action. Not always the same till. Even on a Saturday when there's a big queue out of the door they still can't find the decency to look after their customers. It's enough to drive anybody to find an easier and quicker way to do their banking. The banks are their own worse enemy especially when it comes to customer care. They just don't anymore.

Rural areas are the worst affected, especially if folks have to travel miles to their nearest town.
