He was also in Hot Metal (a sort of prototype Drop The Dead Donkey) and Tutti Frutti (about a fictional rock 'n' roll band, led by Robbie Coltrane - my introduction to both actors!)

Leonard Rossiter made an ITV sitcom that was set in a supermarket. When he died, he was replaced by Bruce Forsyth but as a different character. Can you name both shows?

Leonard was one of my fave Brit comedic actors so I watched this.. Tripper's Day. Never saw the Forsyth version.
